November 30th Deadline to File Anne Arundel County Zoning Change Applications in Regions 1, 3, and 9

Regions 1, 3, & 9 – Applications Now Open

From now until November 30, 2023, Anne Arundel County will accept rezoning applications for properties located in Regions 1, 3, & 9. During the first Region Planning exercise, zoning change applications were accepted only at the end of the process. This time, the County will be starting the process with rezoning applications from property owners. The County Reference Map is available HERE. The County Reference Map allows users to search by property address.

Concurrently with the rezoning application process, the County is conducting a broader planning exercise to implement the work begun with Plan 2040 (the County’s comprehensive plan) as it relates to each specific region. Comments on the goals and objectives of each Region Plan may be submitted through the region hub sites:

  • The Region 1 (Brooklyn Park, Linthicum Heights, Curtis Bay, Ferndale, BWI Airport, Harmans, and parts of Hanover) planning hub site is available HERE.
  • The Region 3 ( Glen Burnie, Severn, and parts of Millersville) planning hub site is available HERE.
  • The Region 9 (Mayo Peninsula, Galesville, West River, Shady Side, Churchton, Deale, Tracy’s Landing, North Beach, and parts of Edgewater and Friendship) planning hub site is available HERE.

If, after reviewing the County Reference Map, you determine that your current zoning does not meet your objectives for your property, we suggest applying for a change as soon as possible.
